Work is underway to make the intake process the same at all regional centers across the State.  A regional center workgroup, created last year, has been meeting regularly with the Department to share information about their procedures, observations, and approaches.  Plus, after a year of community conversations, recommendations about the intake process are included in the Master Plan for Developmental Services, described earlier in this newsletter. The Department is preparing more ways to collect input about the intake process throughout the year with:
  • An online questionnaire for people after they go through the intake process
  • Focus groups beginning this summer with individuals and families who recently experienced the intake process, regional center personnel, and family resource centers
  • More focus groups later in the year.
